LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD STUDS! AMBANJA AND NOSEY BE!

anson Jun 10, 2004 05:35 PM

I am in the Tampa area and am looking for stud service fro my two female panthers. My first is a Nosey Be and she laid a clutch in February. My male Nosey Be Salvador is just too old now and can't seem to get the job done. He fathered the clutches I have incubating now. The second one is a female Ambanja. I just don't want to buy a new male with two clutches on the way and I think this is a good way for both of us to get new blood in our lines. My Ambanja is from Kammerflage bloodlines and I can send pics of her father if you are interested. The female Nosey Be is from California from an unknown bloodline. Both are in great health and eating well! Your male must be healthy and attractive. (my girls are picky)lol
I can share eggs with you or we can work something out. I can also incubate a few babies for you if you prefer that.

Hi sonia, it's a pity both your males can't breed. You probabaly might have tried this before, but i will suggest it anyway. Perhapes you can and put the female in the ambanja males cage and either do one of the these:

1. Take a mirror a flash it in front of your male. When he sees his reflection, he will puff up and try to fend of his "competitior". After awhile, remove the mirror. The fact that he "defended" and dominated over the "other" male might get him to breed. or

2. Take your nosey Be male and show him, perched on your hand, to your ambanja. Both of them should display territorial behavior. Be careful not to get them too close though. when ypu have removed teh Nosey Be, this shoudl simulate yoru ambanjas sucessful defense.

You've probabaly treid all this before, but i thought i'd suggest this because one time my ambanja wasnt interested to breed, and i used my ambilobe as a "competitor" and got him to breed a few minutes later.

good luck.

He doesn't react to anything and is completely dependant on me for food, water almost everything. He has been this way for over a year.
