Pine Nuggets??? For Boa and Ball substrate?

A friend of mine just bought pine nuggets from home depot for his snakes. I didn't think this was such a good i idea but he said that he baked the nuggets in the oven. WHat should i tell him. Please either send him an email with your suggetions or write me. Pythnguy@yahoo.com , boideboy@yahoo.com

It can be toxic, and dangerous, especially to boas.
