I feed in a similar way. If you use the critter keeper, be sure to cover the sides so your crestie cannot see through them, or he will just slam into the side over and over again. However, by doing this, he will need to be very high up in the enclosure to even see the activity and go for a hunt. I don't think these guys are the brightest crayon in the box, and they don't understand this whole glass thing. What I do is take one of those small-medium tupperware containers (about 2"Wx4"Lx4"H). I cut a hole in the middle of the lid just big enough for my crestie. I found out that sometimes, without the overhang from the containers top, that the crix can and will jump out. They get freaked when my cresty comes in after them of course, and they'll jump and even climb on him then jump. If they get the angle right, they can leap out of a container you may think would contain them.

I've got an adult male in a 20 gallon vivarium and he has no problem hunting down about 75% of feeder crickets (feed ~8 med. crix once a week). I know people make a big deal about uneaten crickets stressing out cresteds, but in my experience my crested spends most of the day hiding up branches, whereas leftover crix usually hide under objects at ground level. Also, it's not really tough to pluck out any uneaten crix, just spray the cage and they'll start jumping around.
Just a thought.
