A quick question concerning turtles and a gator.

jay w. Jun 10, 2004 07:54 PM

I want to upgrade some turtles into a larger tank that is currently occupied by a baby Am. gator. Besides rinsing out the gravel and changing the water, is there anything else I should do? Is there any health risks associated w/ this (gator to turtle disease)? This may be a silly question, but I'm a boa guy and do not want to risk my turtles health.

Thanks in advance.
Jay

Depending on the turtle species it is best to wait till the animal is older or not do it at all. Turtles tend to bite toes and tails resulting in the loss of that toe or tail. not to mention most aquatic turtles are quite messy in their behaviors.Just not worth the risk IMO.
