Fast Feeder Fish

I finally decided to let my RES try some feeder fish. I put them in the tank like 11 hours ago and he hasnt caught any yet. Is he slow....just a bad hunter or what? Is he jyst gonna have to practice or are they gonna slow down soon? thanks for input

I had some feeder fish in my slider's tank. They stayed in there for about 2 months and one day they were all gone. I guess it might take them a while to figure out a way to catch them.

You could also give him a taste for feeders. Grab a feeder fish with forceps and let your slider come eat it. Thats what I do with mine, they catch on soon enough.

thanks....i tried that after i felt bad watching him miss them for 2 hours......i didnt think the lil fish would last for 2 months...i figured they would die with no food......actually i see there are some baby fish in there now..newborns...real tiny.....hell probobly beable to catch them...even tho they wont fill him

Yea, I didn't think they would last that long either but they ate the leftover turtle sticks that were in there. The grew alot in 2 months to.
