Senator Craig F. Romero brought up 8 amendments for HB1319 which requires that non-indigenous constrictors must be permitted. This means that California Kings, Mexican Milks, etc would need a permit. Please call the State Legislature switchboard at 225-342-6965 and tell them that you are against HB1319 because of the snake amendment that was reduced from 12 feet and that you want them to vote against it. The legislators are sensitive to an avalanche of phone calls. This needs to be done on Monday, June 14, all day. These amendments were brought up at the request of the animal control people in spite of LDWF, the Louisiana Reptile and Amphibian Task Force, the Louisiana Gulf Coast Herpetological Society, the LA SPCA and enforcement officials requesting otherwise.
