Try worms. It should take them without hesitation. Insect larvae can be fed too, just make sure they are softbodied (if you can find them at all).

And the sign says "No long hair freaky people need not apply." So I put my hair under my hat and I went in to ask him why. He said you look like a fine outstanding young man I think you'll do. So I took off my hat I said "Imagine that Huh Me working for you."-Tesla

Red belly snakes feed mainly on slugs, earthworms, snails(which they can extract from their shells), other soft-bodied insects and insect larvae.

How should I set up her cage? I didn't know how to set her up so I have her on spagnum moss right now with a waterbowl in the corner. She's very relaxed unlike all other red-bellied snakes I've caught which resort to constant lip curling, musking and defecating when handled. She's very active and hasn't done any of the above even once. She's very inquisitive and crawls up on my hand at every given chance. I'd really like to get her to eat, I have never had success with occipitomaculata before.

Thanks!

It's up to you for the size of the enclosure, I keep all my snakes on soil, potting soil, some wouldn't recommend it but I never had a problem with using it. Make sure you have some flat rocks and stuff that the snake can hide under, you can also keep some of the moss in with it, it will also hide under and/or burrow into it.

Getting it to eat shouldn't be a problem at all, red belly and brown snakes aren't as timid and shy as some other small terrestrial snakes. If and when it comes out looking for food(usually in the afternoon) put about 3 frozen/thawed worms that the snake could eat, if it comes across one of them, it will most likely take it.

If that doesn't work(which it probably will, try the same thing but with a few F/T slugs. I'm pretty sure you'll have success with getting it to eat, the yare not a tough species to "crack."

Thanks so much. I will have to try and find some little worms. Would cut up pieces of the big nightcrawlers work?
