I recently had an unforgetable experience with another breeder.I purchased a Spider male from a kingsnake ad. The animal I received was a different animal from the one posted on the ad (I have the pic from the ad still on file). I was a bit confused as to why I was sent a different animal (one who actually looked better than the one I was supposed to get)I began to look closely at the animal. This Spider appeared to have a defective hemipene. I had another well know breeder as well as two reptile vets look at him and we all agreed that his hemipene was questionable and should be replaced if possible. The seller was notified and I was sent pics of another spider ,these pics were TERRIBLE (I still have them on file) and the "replacement" Spider appeared to have a blunt, stumpy tail,. I asked the breeder for either more pics of higher quality so I could see him better or pics of another animal instead. He became upset and said "he's fine it's just the pics ". Needless to say I will never do business with someone who appears to be trying to sell grade B animals as grade A animals. If you are looking for an investment animal I would be very careful about where you purchase your animal,as you may be taken if you don't do your homework!!!! I have talked with other breeders about this and they also agree that when this much $$ is involved that things sometimes get misrepresented. I'll keep the pic of the Spider that has a questionable hemipene on file just in case it is offered for sale to someone else! The seller is fairly new to this ball python industry , however I will not mention any names here , as that is not my intent here, my intent is to tell others to be very careful who you are dealing with !! I know alot of stand up breeders in this industry and they are working hard to provide us with top quality animals, lets not let these "questionable" breeders ruin it for the rest of us honest people who are trying to make an honest living for ourselves! This all goes back to the old saying "What goes around comes around". Anthony McCain-McCain's Reptiles.
