SoCal: In trouble with the law, frogs to go!

mrfrog Jun 19, 2003 03:03 AM

ok, so im in trouble with the law and i have some frogs i most likely gonna have to get rid of. Im not selling them, i will most likely hand them off. no one here would know how to care for them and so i might as well pass them off to go homes. this is what i have:

1.1 lecomelas (proven breeders)
1.1 Blue and Black auratus
1.1 Imitators (breeding)
2.3 Golden mantellas
1.1 Hawaiian green and black auratus (standard form)
1.0 Blue jeans pumilio
1.2 Gold dust day gecko (proven bredder)
0.2 Orange spotted day gecko (laying dud eggs)

i will not ship, so cal pick up only! im sorry but thats what ive decided on. also im not so sure if i will hand off the blue jeans, i may hand him off to 2 other current blue jean breeders. i will keep in contact and let you know if they will have to go after my court day. thanks guys

Sorry to hear about your miss fortune and, I don't wanna seem like I am trying to prosper from it but I would gladly take any that you are willing to get rid of. I am willing to buy them or may even have some items to swap. If at all interested please contact me at DATUDISME@MSN.COM if you are interested at all.

Thanks

Sorry about you new troubles.

Where about in socal are you?
Ive got a 65 48x18x17 viv that will be fully stocked with plants in a week.

I think its great how u care for your frogs so much you are willing to take a loss in order to keep them healthy and in a good home.

I'm in so cal. I would be interested in any of the dendrobates and could pick them up. Also I could pay you some money for them.

Sorry to hear it. I may be able to take your imitators. They'd get their own setup. I'm in north San Diego County.

I live in San Gabriel, and I am currently putting together an Imitator tank for a trio I got from Tor Linbo. If the lines are the same, perhaps your pair can reside in the same obode(unless you think its not a good Idea to mingle). Or, I am also able to put a tank together for your Leucs. Of course, your Pumilios are definately welcomed here!!!!! Whatever tank they require, I would definatly put together. Let me know if you'd like me to do either, and I'll get started(if you must unload some of your equipment, I'd be willing to see what you've got and pay you some for it). Since your court date is on July 9th, does that mean you need to hand them off then? In case you wondered, I am 7 months into the hobby of the PDFs but I am not new to herping-just ask Patrick of Saurian.com about how careful I am. I have currently one pair of Tincs, a trio of Imitators, a trio of Pampas Toads, and I have raised 700 FBT from eggs. I'm sorry for your troubles. Gosh, there isn't a new law against our frogs is there? Email me directly if you'd like with any questions about me.

actually no sorry, the fact that you been doing this for 7 months scares me. i plan on passing them off onto people who have about 3 yrs experience or around, just as i do. on top of that all the questions i always see you ask all the time really scares me. but thanks anyway.

shopaholic Jun 20, 2003 01:34 PM

Well, good for you...being as careful with your children as I am in my persistance of acquiring the right knowledge in getting started with all my questions that you see me asking. I am puzzled though as to why you'd be frightened by an obvious "over" concern on my part to be responsible as you seem to share the same charactoristic. My short 7 months experience is on only with Darts, with other frogs, over a couple of years. But, thanks for your consideration and honesty.

mrfrog Jun 20, 2003 04:34 PM

because i have a different view on things. to me questions = mistakes, and experience = knowledge. if you ask questions there is room for mistake, something i dont want my frogs experiencing, and so thats how i feel, sorry.

and to others who asked the question, im in Los Angeles, well, South Pasadena, about less than 5 mins from Dodger stadium.

I have never seen so many people try to sell themselves so much! A guy has a couple darts to give away and suddenly everybody is competing on the forum with their experience, and naming their collection off. It's not that hard to care for these frogs. How about we just let this thread chill for a while, like say, until July 9? Then if he has frogs available, email him.

Ferriera Jun 20, 2003 06:17 AM

Sorry to here about your problems you have my deepest sympathy but it was dame nice of you to come out and do the right thing. Best of luck and I hope to see you one day back into this.

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the law, but I was wondering if you are still trying to get some of those frogs off your hands?

Thanks,
Drew
