My WC cornsnake layed a clutch of eggs ( 33 ) an went cloudy eyed ( bout to shed). She went totally limp for days, forcing me to shed her ( I soaked her in warm water , and rubbed her gently so the old skin would come off) . She was fine for a few days, got some food down, started to make a recovery and now she has this , viscousy, slimy skin stuff on her eyes, What can I do?

I think your error was in forcing the snake to shed. The post lay shed is an extended shed time, meaning that it takes much longer then it would normally. I would assume that the fluids that you are seeing are from infections that set into the eyes when the new eye cap was not formed completely. A trip to the vet is a must to possibly save the snake. With it already in a weakened state from egg laying the snake may not be able to fight off the infection with out long extensive care, including tube feeding, hydration, and antibiotic injections.
Good luck and get her to a VET ASAP!

I'm not gonna try and teach a lesson, but...snakes are independent animals. When something as miraculous as a snake laying eggs happens, let her take care of herself in the future. Snakes have been around for a long time, they know what to do to survive. Just offer food, and let her be

I've had dozens of snakes lay eggs , and know exactly how they behave afterwards. Trust me , I'm noone to rush anything, or mess with natures way. If you could have seen this snake I beleive nearly everyone would have done it. Heinsite is 20/20, but i'm sure the snake would have died. I placed her on the ground for a minuite, to clean her cage, I would gently tough her tail, nothing. Her breathing wasn't visisble. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't move for days! I'm not exaggerating ( she would literally lay in very aqward positions for days on end, I could see her ribs, her whole body was limp. Their was no way for her to shed. I may have made a mistake, but after 4 feedings ( forced ) she regained her activeness, and is pursueing food on her own. Thickened up 200 %. I do beleive you are correct HOPPY, and I will do what I can to get her normal again. Thats exactly what I thought was happeneing. THANK YOU BOTH.
