first clutch of eggs laid today(hondos)!!!! w/ pics

Pondoris Jun 11, 2004 07:24 PM

It was my first attempt at breeding snakes. These eggs are from a pair of tri-color dbl het ghost('02's). The female was up above 1200 grams, this pair is from Terry Dunham. Today she dropped a clutch of atleast 10 eggs that I can visibly count. Now lets see if I can hatch them out. . .

Thanks Terry, I couldn't be more excited!

peace,
Ian

Congrats! I hope you hatch those babys out. What a cool project for your first clutch. I am waiting on my Hondos , feels like an eternity. How are you going to go about incubating them? Tom

Thanks Tom,

I live in Florida, and will allow the eggs to incubate at 78F in a closet. I was really freaking out as I'm leaving for a week in. . .ohhhh. . . about 5 hrs, and she hadn't laid. I attempted to feed her a rat pup and she devoured it. I can see atleast 11(count em for yourself), and they all look good.

Peace,
Ian

Good job Ian! Now with biginners luck, you'll hatch a Ghost...

Pondoris Jun 11, 2004 10:03 PM

Thanks Marc,

Yeah with a little luck I may have a ghost pop its head out. . .but first I have to get them to hatch. I dont believe that will be a problem though; time will tell.

Peace,
Ian

Here's a pic of pop at about 1 month old.
