Here is a pic of an N. sipedon I cought last year ( the smaller one) and one I caught this year(bigger rounder one). Does the big one look gravid? Speaking of this when it is a live bearing snake should it be called gravid or pregnant?

Wow, those are tiny snakes! You'd have to work with tehm a lot to be able to tell if they are pregnant or not, I sure coulnd't tell. Then again, I've not yet attempted to breed yet so I've never expierenced it. They are very cute though. At least they don't have problems finding food small enough, theres always tiny minnows.

They are not what I would call tuny. The one I think may be possibly gravid is 22 1/8" long. The one beside it is about the same length just not as wide. I know the hopefully gravid one is a female though because of its girth. Tiny is going to be the ringneck eggs I have incubating. Just a few inches long

Justin,

Its not at all swollen. Nerodia get pretty massive when they are carrying young. Yours may eventually produce young, but there is nothing showing in this pic.

I was just noting the size difference in girth. That other one is a pretty think one too, thats why I htought it may be gravid/preganant or whatever. Thanx though.
