in the middle is a group picture of 8 heosemys, the 4 pics on the left are the ones in the 1st row and the 4 on the right are the ones on the 2nd row. the 3 below is just a random pics on 3 size/lenght of tails i saw in this specie.

some images may make the tails grow longer or stouter, please refer and zoom in on the group pics to see the actual size.

may i ask for your opinions on which ones are the males and which are the females (for the 8 in the group) then for the 3 pics, which ones are the tails of the male and which are for the females.

just seemed too hard to differentiate.

current status of this specie in the market? is this in CITES?

The Article you have tells you everything on the current status I believe. It is rare and it is also rather rare on chinese & japanese markets, however, in the last few months, the first specimens passed out to japan pet markets and it is said that some are traded in guangxi markets from time to time (the first ones are said to have appeared there already some years ago by some chinese people I know). Where were your photos taken?
As all Heosemys species, Heosemys leytensis is listed in CITES Appendix 2 and European Appendix B since 2003.

are these from the philippines? i have a friend who breeds them there, ill ask him about sexing. good luck bty- he sent me these pics, what do you think?
