I saw on Ralph Davis' site that he has some male snow morph ball pythons for $750. What's the catch here? The females are $2500. Are the males less attractive? Isn't the snow ball the solid white python with maybe just a hint of pattern? I just have never heard of a ball morph for anything less than $1000.

they are possible double hets

Hello Bill,

I believe that the price you saw was for a Possible Double Het. for Snow male. This male is a normal looking Ball Python that is 66% Poss. Het. for Albino and 66% Poss. Het. for VPI Axanthic. I believe that 100% definite Double Hets. are going for about $5,000.00 or maybe a little higher. Also, an actual Snow would currently retail at or above $25,000.00.

A heck of a deal when you consider there is only a 1 in 9 chance these guys are normal. The full odds are:

1:9 normal
2:9 het albino only
2:9 het VPI axanthic only
4:9 double het VPI snow

I recently picked up an early 2004 male like these from another breeder and he's eating small rats in shed so maybe he'll go this winter but of course a 2002 would be a surer bet for an extra $450.
