how long does it typically take for the eggs to hatch??..i have 2 sacks in a 20 gallon with a spot light above them...i'm hoping to time it just right so that they and the crickets hatch around the same time

Mine took from 3 weeks to a little over a month. One thing you need is humidity as well. They require a good amount of it, close to 60% I'd say. Also, be sure you have a very very fine mesh (pantyhose material is great) over the tank top or else you will have hundreds of tiny tiny mantis everywhere. lol That happened to me! Oh, it's also a good idea to suspend the egg case with fishing line or wire. Get a lot more live mantis that way. Closer to the 200 mark.

damn...i better think of something as far as that screen top goes...i've been misting the tank twice a day but that's probably not cutting it but i can solve the humidity problem...thanks for the advice
