try going to the vet and getting Silver Sulfadiozine cream. I have used this cream on chams for a nipped tail and foot infection. From what i was told this stuff was made for burn victims in Vietnam. So far it has worked very well every time i have used it. Should help healing and keep any scaring to a minimum. Good Luck

First, chams don't get burned by UV lights, they get burned by heat spots. The UV in our lamps is not strong enough to do such damage. Thermal burns are fairly common especially on the top of the back. The silvadene cream is great for helping to heal, fight infection, and keeping the area moist and clean. You MUST get it. Depending on how deep the damage went your cham could lose the spines and have some scarring on the skin, or it could even lose some deeper tissue. Hard to say. Skin scarring can often heal really well but it will take some time (months). The key is to get the silvadene, keep the area very clean and protected, remove any black crusty dead tissue, feed your cham very carefully for healing, and most important, move the basking spot away from the perch and check the temperature!
