Thanks for the info, Will. The snakes in question were the ones I bought here on the classifieds a few months ago. I guess they must have been kept in a cool location (at the sellers house) maybe, or been brumated quite late. I remember finding a NC. locale female E. King last year in early June. I thought that she had laid her eggs already as she appeared rather slender considering that it was early June. Well, after hanging on to her for about a month and a half she dropped 14 eggs. Unfortunately only two of them were fertile. I had then inquired about the past weather for this part of NC, and found out that they had a very unusually lengthy cool spring for that year. I, just having moved here didn't realize that until I had that female lay her eggs so late. And being that only two were fertile, it leads me to believe that mating was not quite completed for that season for the Kings. A lesson learned (I guess).
