Help! Sick Beardie, possibly MBD?

Mychelle Jun 12, 2004 07:32 PM

I aquired a male BD from a friend, and at the time, he looked fine. He is about a year old, 18 inches long. Eating a diet of Rep-cal pellets and salad, no cricks.

Yesterday I noticed he was not using his right back leg, and the joints on it are swollen. Today his left leg is twitching. I'm giving him Rep-cal calcium supplements, and have moved his uvb light closer to where he is basking. What else can I do? How much of the calcium should I be giving, and how often?

Thanks bunches!

I would take him to a good herp vet. If it is calcium you can get oral calcium concentrate but it MUST be administered by a knoledgeable vet. Gout should also be treated by a vet. It is important to keep him well hydrated.

good luck
