In a dillemma with my Pac-Man

owen13 Jun 12, 2004 07:35 PM

I got my Pacman about a month ago, for the first week or so I could feed him about a mealworm every 2 nights. Then he didn't eat for about 2 weeks. He got pretty skinny so I decided to take some measures. I had to open up his mouth with tweezers and stick mealworms in his mouth. I have pinkie mice but he wouln't even go after those...?
help...
tank is 12" diameter. coconut shavings, 3-4 inch water bowl, 1.5 inch froggie... undertank heater...
any help would be awesome!

i have 16 albino ornatas and i few others ......i have not encounter your problem so far.....and in my past experience, pacman somtimes do refuse to eat once temp go down and they go into "hibernation" but for a 1.5 inch froggy, i certainly dont think he is doing just that.....young pacmans have varocious appetite compared to an adult one.....yours is probably sick or my guess is that he swallowed something not meant to be swallowed. my advice is if you have the budget, send him to a doc for a scan.....

good luck

oh and one more thing, are u feeding him calcium?..especially the ones with vit D3....these are very important to pacmans as they eat alot and their growth rate is fast...if you dun feed him these, his bone growth could be deformed and these can also lead to loss of appetite, having weird bone growth on your frogs....and if he really is lacking in calcium and visually you can see funny or weird bone growth, its only matter of time for him......sorry if thats the case

good luck
