Albino or Leucy Anole in S. Florida. ?? Pics!

bloodycats Jun 12, 2004 11:55 PM

I recently vacationed in FL, and as an aspiring herper kept my eyes open for anything "cold-blooded." This little guy showed himself twice durring my vacation. I tried to capture him, but he had a nice "Exit" sign he seemed to live in/escape to.

I don't know what was going on here, just that it was not normal. Dark eyes, pink body, so I snapped some (BAD) pics.

If anyone is interested in this guy, or where I saw him, shoot me an e-mail. I owned green anoles before I ever got deeply into the herp world, and have not heard anything about them since. If there is someone out there interested in capturing and propagating whatever trait this anole is displaying, I would be more than happy to give the location. Otherwise. . . I'd like to know. . . what's going on in this guy? I'm a snake person, so I am not very sure about lizard traits or coloration. Thanks.

Hello:
It is either a Mediterranean Gecko or a Indo-Pacific Gecko. It's a little blurry to tell. Definitely a House Gecko though.
Have a Great Day!!!

Notice the big bulgy eyes. These little translucent guys, with occasional white spots and little bumps on their skin, are all over the place in the south and western states.

Definately a gecko. No anole has eyes that large.
