I am also going on vacation with my family to table rock lake. (see earlier post) I have been there once before, and found tons of map turtles and once I even saw three water snakes along the shore at the same time. It was impossible to decide wich one to catch. I have read about ozark salamanders many times, and I would like to be able to see some. I have seen many streams around the lake, and was wondering if i just had to flip over rocks in the water? Or do they venture out of the water as well? Any hints would be appreciated. The only salamander in the wild that I have seen, in Iowa, was 1 tiger salamander, and I would love to find other species in Missouri.
