incubation tempature question?

one of my ratsnakes is getting ready to lay her eggs ive got my incubator set up, its just a made one with an aqarium heater in the botom and a plastic shoe box on top of the water on bricks with moss well im having trouble keeping the temps at night up the temps are fine through the day but at night the stay at 75 degrees they dont go no lower than that but can one of you guys maybe give me a clue to boost the temps up at night or should i leave it a lone

It sounds like you may not have a heater with high enough wattage. Either that or you have the incubator in a pretty cool room? If you want more temp stability, you might look into a higher wattage heater, or move the incubator into a room that stays warmer at night. The other option is use the incubator as it is. Many breeders feel that natural temp fluctuations are desirable during incubation. 75 is within tolerance levels for most rat snake eggs. It will, however, require a longer incubation period before the eggs hatch. Hope this helps!
