How to keep a baby veiled well hydrated?

chubbs032 Jun 13, 2004 02:05 PM

I spray him twice a day and feed him twice a day. What else can I do to keep him hyrdrated?

His right eye is showing signs of injection or trauma, sometimes its swollen, sometimes he keeps it closed, and sometimes its just fine. What to do in the meantime while he is gaining size?

the best way i found out is to have big leaves on the bottom of the tank spray the leaves 3 times a day the babie will drink from the leaves i also spray all my chameleons 3 times a day i spray them when i see them trying to hide from the light it helps to cool them down or youcould try wetting the food you feed it that helps to try to feed he lots of different bugs crikets really have no meat on them.

There are some good info on baby care at these sites:

One of the bigger problems is having a cage that dries out too fast and stays dry too long between sprayings. Get a good electronic humidity gauge (not the plastic dials from the pet shop!) and find out how dry your cage gets. It may surprise you.
