Housing snakes on the patio?

rad Jun 13, 2004 02:16 PM

I live in South Florida and was wondering if you all thought housing my Ball Python and Columbian Red Tail would be o.k. out on my porch. They are in two 30 gallon tanks and would never be in direct sunlight. I'm just concerned about dehydration. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Will you be able to maintain the proper heat gradient for your snakes? That's the most obvious problem I can think of.

On the patio It's usually between 80-90 during the summer months. Winter is normally 75-85. I would definately take them in on the 4 or 5 cold nights we have. It's just a thought, I really want to keep them in the house. Just throwing the question out there right now.

Probably not. That's why I was asking. It's helps me in the thought process and to help make a good decision.
