RE:My sick BRB...an update and a message...

Chris Olson Jun 13, 2004 02:43 PM

Well, I'm back after several days...and a nasty little Trojan my computer picked up....

Anyways...first off I would like to thank everyone on this forum and the other one for responding.

Update on the condition: After a treatment of metronidazole he has eaten a VERY small mouse. This impies to me protozoans in the G.I. tract. This is the first good sign I've had...so until he defacates so I can do a float, this is what I will assume, and I will continue using this medication once a week. Hopefully I can get enough small meals in him that he'll poop soon, then more can be determined. The R.I. responded well to the Baytril after just a few days, which I forgot to menchen in the original post.

Rich, I purposefully left your name and company name out of my posts and correspondence because I DO believe in giving people the beniefit of the doubt, and I DO believe in being fair no matter what the circumstances are. I would like to let you know that you are paying too much for shipping. Every snake I've shipped this year has been around $35 for overnight 10:30am delivery. Also, we did discuss shipping...and I guess I should have told you that I always expect an insulated box. I don't understand how you getting burnt has anything to do with you contacting me...but I'm glad you decided to. As for what is fair..I will email you. I will not "burn you at the stake," because I think you are genuinly interested in doing the right thing. The purpose of my original post was to get opinions on "what is fair..." since I have never found myself in these circumstances.

To everyone else: Again, thank you. Linda, I always appreciate your opinion even when I'm mildly insulted by it(sorry about that)...Jeff, your experience is unmatched in this area, and you are always the first person I come to with my concerns. I would like to say however, Rich may have made some mistakes reguarding this transaction, but it was BRAVE of him to come on this forum and "attach" himself to it.I think a dishonest person would not have done that. Most of the responses I got on the boa forum criticized me for NOT smearing his name all over the forum and that "other site," but THIS is exactly why I wasn't ready to do that. Some people are dishonest...and sometimes people just make mistakes. I feel it is VERY important to remain objective, consider both sides, and get input before attempting to spoil someones livelyhood. People should be measured by their good transactions and by how they react to the bad ones. I think the end result is what should be measured.

I don't know why this snake is such a reck...I don't know why it was sold that way, but the seller IS willing to work with me...and the original post was a question as to what "fair" compensation would be for the circumstanses.

Sincerely, Chris

I am glad you have become a regular on the this forum, and I value your opinions. I hope that this situation works out to your satisfaction. Also I hope that not many of my replies are mildly irritating. LOL

I certainly consider my experience as green, and always like to hear what you have to say.

By the way, I have seen the posts you reply to on that other forum....I think you have good taste and are a cool fellow.

I have learned something from watching you handle this situation in a fair and respectful manner.

I admire that you wanted to resolve the situation without dragging names into it. Personally, I wouldn't hesitate from buying from you.

Linda

Thanks, Linda

I value your opinions as well...you are very modest, you know more than most...and your profession gives you an insight that few have. Your knowledge of parasites is impressive.

I would have no problem at all being your customer. One of the things I like about this forum is I've met many people I feel safe buying from. I was hoping to buy some Peruvian Rainbows from Jeff this year, but I guess he's not going to have any
Maybe someday we'll see each other at a show.

I hope all this works out with Hellboy (that's the sick one). I HATE seeing animals like this.

Thanks, Chris
