Yes, they make great pets. Be prepared for a hissy snake though. Don't let the hissing bother you though, it is genally a big bluff. My Argentine is probably my only snake that hasn't bitten or struck at me at one time or another. But man when I first got her she would hiss very loudly. I think that they are very sound sleepers and get pissed when you wake them. If they are moving about already they normally don't hiss. Another thing, BCOs sometimes have weak digestive systems as youngsters so don't overfeed or feed too large of a prey item for the first couple of years. HTH!
