I bought a female veiled chameleon today about 3 months old and I saw her close her left eye for about 8 seconds so I misted her cage to let her clean her eye, but she still does it.

she was closing her left eye about once every few minutes
This isn't enough info to know for sure, but if she's a new arrival she's still recovering from stress. Make sure she's well hydrated, spray her gently for longer times (rather than a lot of water for only a few moments), keep the cage a bit more humid, and watch her. If she is not eating or drinking and keeps the eye shut most of the time there might be an irritant in it. Remember, if the cham knows you are watching it will tend to act differently than if you are not there. Sneak a peek to catch her at her most relaxed...and if the eye is shut all the time you may need to get her checked by a vet.
