Vertical slit in python underbelly

BigBoss Jun 14, 2004 12:56 PM

One of my new ball pythons has a vertical slit in it's underbelly. I noticed my burmese which is also new has it too. I'm asking because my old ball doesn't have this. Is it just a difference with sexes??

This vertical slit is the location where the umbilical cord was attached. Eventually, as the snakes shed, this slit will go away.
