deuce02 Jun 14, 2004 02:23 PM

They are in a pretty bad container with min. ventilation this was only temp. is this even poss that they can produce ammonia? I nearly passed out from the smell. it was really strong. I also did not feed them to any of my animals, i am trying to figure out how to properly dispose of them, any ideas?

It could be the rotten bodies of the superworms. Check to see if some of them are dying and or leaving half-eaten corpses around. I've never likened it to the smell of ammonia, but I think if the stench was strong enough, it could seem like it was ammonia.
