What are your opinions: Rena FilStar XP3 vs. other filters?

MissMiniZoo Jun 14, 2004 03:56 PM

Everything I have read so far points me in the direction of the FilStar XP3. The other that is regarded highly is the Fluval 404, however, many sites point out that it is extremely difficult to prime. What are your experiences?

I have a 55 gallon tank and this will be the first time I have ever set up a 55 gallon turtle tank.

I have used both. I LOVE THIS FILTER!! It is easy to clean and you just reattach the hoses and BINGO instantly primed and ready to go. I heartily reccomend it. Have not cussed once cleaning and reattaching this filter!!!

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear that you love yours because I just ordered a FilStar! Everything I read seemed to be in favor of the FilStar, so I made my decision on that. I've never had a canister filter before. Are they difficult to understand at first?
