I was able to purchase a breeding colony (2.4) of Sargent and Dyer Honduran Firebelly Boas. They are very distinctive with a darker olive green coloration and rusty colored saddles. The bellies vary from a deep tangerine to a redish orange color. The Sargent line seem to be darker both in top and bottom color, while the Dyer line seems to be more of a pale greenish coloration on top. Both are equally gorgeous. They are a bit snappy at first, but with handling they settle down...EXCEPT at feeding time, when i am extra cautious as they are voracious eaters. I am switching them to FT Fuzzy Bunnies now and they seems to really like that. I will be having my first 2 litters of these gorgeous boas next year. I am very excited about them.

The Sargent bloodline "Firebellies" are insular island BCI from Roatan/ Bahia Island off the Honduran coast. I got 1.1 recently and they have a deep red underbelly, unlike the mainline Dyer line Honduran BCI (I have 1.2 of these)which are more pinkish. I wouldn't suggest interbreeding them, but rather keeping the lines pure if possible.

Good luck,
cheers

If you are in Europe, try contacting Hermann at http://www.boa-constrictors.com/com/com.html .... I think he has the only true Firebellies in Europe. He is based in Germany.

Good Luck,
John
