early hatching

steve fuller Jun 14, 2004 09:13 PM

Eastern indigo clutch hatched over the weekend, about 86 days. From seven eggs there 1.4 hatchlings and two eggs that died about a month ago.

Texas clutch started hatching today, 81 days. From six eggs, one female's out, three eggs have slit, and two are waiting.

I'm inept with camera, but will get photos posted.

1.3 Texas hatchlings are out. Two are still hiding out. The first four are all much more defensive than any Eastern hatchlings I've ever seen. Photo of hours old Texas hatchling with Eastern hatchling, four days old.

Already going opaque huh?

Mine will be shedding probably today.
Yours looks almost identical to mine.

They seem to be very defensive for like a week or so...they even were biting and chewing on my hand the first day they hatched.

But they lose that tendency real fast.
Mine are already mellowed out.
