Motley Sunglow Question

magick-bears Jun 14, 2004 10:00 PM

I have a pair of of 03' Motley Sunglows. They are also clutch mates. The male looks like what I would expect a Motley Sunglow to look very bright orange. The female is nothing like I would picture. She is a Motley/Stripe with very deep red coloration. In fact she almost appears to have a blue/lavender cast over the red. Her head markings are also gray/white in color. Lastly she is very small, only 14"-15". My question is do you think she is a Motley Sunglow or is there something else possibly going on here?

Sorry the pic is not very good. I still have not figured out how to photograph them I am so envious of all the great pics on here. Share you photography secrets

I can't speak to the morph genetics but I will note that I kept two clutch mates from a breeding I did last year. One male and one female.

They have had the exact same number of meals that have all been the same size and they have been subject to the same temps. The male is noticably larger than the female.

Both appear healthy. I assume it's similar to me being 6'0" and my sister being 5'7".
