safe fruits/veggies?

lilbitlizz Jun 14, 2004 10:41 PM

I noticed my young veiled trying to eat some of his plastic plants in his tank today for the first time. I put a few sliver of apple on his branch and he gobbled them up. I guess it's time to start offering more fruits and veggies, but I want to make sure I don't give him something he can't digest.. (like iceberg lettuce for iguanas...) Can anyone give me a list of good and bad fruits/veggies?

kale, broccoli, spinach and califlower(sp) are bad...some good greens are dandelion greens and swiss chard.....be carefull with veggies that are high in vitamin A also...with veggies, different colors usually means different vitamins

I have heard otherwise about kale and broccoli. I have fed kale to my chams and they loved it. No ill signs after eating. Same with broccoli (only the tops, the chams can't chew off the rest anyway).

both of those foods are high in oxalates which bind with calcium....check out the following site for some good nutrition info
