Help in pronouncing Pastave and two other notes

Tracy Barker Jun 15, 2004 07:32 AM

There seems to be a problem regarding the saying of the word-I thought this may help.

from the American Heritage Dictionary-a similar sounding word:

agave-n. Any of the fleshy-leaved tropical American plants of the genus Agave, which includes the Century plant.

Now I know you know that one does not pronounce this word a-gave, live the word save etc. so you would pronounce pastave the same way.

2) I love Cheryl's name "Chaparral" for the pastel desert-why not save this for the pastel desert ghost? I have pastels het for desert ghost hatched from last year and hope to produce one this next breeding season. I'd love to use that name if I am lucky enough to hatch this snake first-but of course only with Cheryl's permission.

3) Regarding "Big Breeders" going along with names as put out there by John Z. The evidence clearly does not lead to that conclusion as two of the "Big Breeders," SnakeKeeper and Graziani Reptiles did not like the name and said so. As far as I could tell I was in the minority in terms of supporting this name.

I think it's rediculous that people got so upset at MKR for giving "their" new morph a name. MKR made everybody that was bashing them look like idiots, by being proffesional about the whole thing, and keeping quiet (up a notch in my book).

What can we argue about next?

Not my word~ leaned it in grade school~ so of course your more than welcome to it! )
I actually think desert landscape is pretty at sunrise/sunset~ lots of muted pastel colors in a "Chaparrel" landscape.
A desert ghost pastel should be beautiful!

I think Wes and Joe did an awsome job with the name, past-ah-vay is a beautiful name for a sweet looking animal.

And thank you Tracy for taking a stand on it..... To argue about what name is given to any specific morph is slightly strange and a bit surreal, after all you have to call them something and a name is better then a number. If someone else doesn't like the name, create your own and call it whatever YOU like....

And I would like to add that it's nice seeing you back here again giving you opinion. It's been a while since I've seen you around these parts. I might not always agree, but it's good to see you here again and hear your viewpoint.

There are a few here and there who would dispute Ralphs title of KING, but I doubt that there are many that would disagree with your right to the title of QUEEN of ball pythons... And I just wanted to say, good to see you around again your majesty.........

Your humble court jester.
