Question about my horned lizard

kornchicka0000 Jun 15, 2004 08:32 AM

Hello. I've had a horned lizard(toad) for about 2 weeks and I've noticed he is not drinking from his water bowel. Is this normal? and Should I spray him with a water bottle? I heard that they don't like moisture since they're desert lizards so I don't know what to do. I don't want anything to happen to him. Please help if you know what to do. Thanks.

Horned lizards do require moisture but they do get a lot of it from their ant diet.
They will occasionally drink from a shallow water dish. I offer mine water in a dish once a week or so and mist them with a spray bottle once or twice a week. Do this when they are warm and make sure the water is a little warm too.

What kind of horned lizard are you keeping? Any pics?
