eggs turning green

ktmartin Jun 15, 2004 10:23 AM

My beardie has finally stopped laying eggs, a total of 22 laid now. 10 were bad right away, crushed and so on, and now i have 12 in incubator. But today when i got up 3 of them were green and 2 more and caving in. Am I causing this somehow? I got the temp at 83-84 degrees and I got water in the bottom for humidity. I have done everything I have been told to do but it seems to not be working...... PLEASE HELP!!! thanks....

green is usually a sign of infertile eggs starting to rot and grow mold/fungus. next they will turn brown. The dets can mean insufficient humidity or the eggs were really bad to start. Humidity should be about 50% or a bit more. Some people go much higher.

do you have the eggs in vermiculite? if so is the vermiculite moistened? also does the container that the eggs are in have a cover over it?
