schnieder's skink active now

heh, i've had a schneider's skink for awhile now his tank has nvr had any decoratoins, cept the water bowl, and yea, today i was cleaning my room, had some joink i was just gonna throw away, branches and such, so i decided to put it in his tank, well b4 on just the sand he would just bury himself all day long cept for coming out for about 5 minutes to eat, yea, now hes been out a whoooole lot more, wish i would have thought to do dis earlier lol

They don't originate from plain sand deserts but from areas that have plenty of vegetation and rocks. Even though those places are quite arid and have more or less sandy ground there is plenty of life. That's why pure sand base is not the best choise, as you noticed, and all sort of decoration should be provided (hiding places, rock, logs, places to climb onto and so on..)
