We were talking about stripeless bairdi a few months ago. Actually, I was wondering if a solid gry specimen with no dark stripes had ever been found. Well, a stripeless has been located, but not the "look" I'd envisioned.
A relative of mine found and snapped a pic of a bairdi (he didn't know what it was, but had a camera on him while hiking). When he described it, I thought it was a coachwhip.
Lo and behold, when I saw it, I was amazed.
It was an adult bairdi with almost NO grey at all, and almost entirely stripeless. Some remnant rusty blotching was on most of its body.
I only saw the pic for a few minutes, but when he emails it, I'll be sure to post it.
Now-how do you go re-find a snake?!
