Snow Corn questions

Hey all. I got my first snake just over a month ago. She is a Snow corn snake. Quite young still, but very well behaved. I handle her all the time without any problems or agresiveness. She has fed very well, and takes the food instantly everytime. I have two questions for anybody out there. About an inch to and inch and a half down her body, there is a black patch under her skin. At first I thought it was just some food getting worked down, but it has been there for quite a while now. Not sure what it is. Also a few couple spots have appeared on her as well. They are very small, and it looks like as if one or two scales have somehow become removed. Not sure if this is normal or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Congratulations on your snow corn. She may be rubbing against something in her enclosure and/or getting dirt trapped in her skin between scales. You may want to watch out for any kind of infection, poke around and see if it's dirt or something internal. If you're really worried, see a herp-friendly vet. Also check to see if the spots are still there after she sheds. Hope this helps a bit.

Actually you can see through some corns (especially young snows and blizzards) and see their organs. It's normal, nothing to worry about.
I wouldn't worry about the scales either. Just keep an eye on them and make sure they don't get infected or anything and they should be fine as soon as its next shed.
