He just.. won't /go/.

I have a male beardie close to a year old now. He's around-- eh, 16 inches or so now. It's impossible to measure him when he tries to eat the ruler or the measuring tape..

Anyways, for the past few months since he was been separated from his female cage mate (I think you all can guess why..) he has decided to.. seldom relieve himself.

He'll eat plenty-- superworms, occasionally mealworms and crickets, along with his salads. He basks. He runs around, climbs all over. He isn't loosing weight. He isn't sickly looking. He just.. won't.. /poop/.

That might have come out wrong. He *will* poop, it just takes him a little over a week at a time to do it. o_o;

Again, I say he is active. He headbobs at anything you leave near his cage. He'll try to mate with my female if he sees her. He's still shedding periodically. His temps reach over 100 during the day. He's under a 100w Active UV/heat in his custom-built closure.

He's totally spoiled. o_o;;

I don't think he is impacted. If anything, I think it could be parasital. I've tried soaking him in gatorade dilute, olive oil with water, running him under warm water..

As soon as he *does* go, I'll take it in for a fecal check. But, until then, does anyone have any ideas? x_x; I mean, I've looked, and I've never seen anything like this. It's like he's on strike ever since I have held back on feeding him so much protein.

Thanks for listening to my babble. ^.^;

if he is taking a monster size poop. a change in diet will change their regularity. As they get older they poop less often. Make sure he stays well hydrated. Pellets soaked in water or juice is good for that. When he does go, does he strane a lot? is it hard? is it smelly? A warm bath every few days is not a bad idea, but it does not sound serious unless there are other factors that I mentioned above.

If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?
