How are Freedom breeder rat racks

barnaby Jun 15, 2004 01:40 PM

I was thinking about getting a complete rat rack from freedom breeder. Does anyone have any experience with them and can I put mice in the rat tubs(seperatly from the rats of course)? I would also like to breed gerbils in the rack as well. They look very sturdy, but I dont know if the water is too far away for the mice to reach if the tub is deep. any info would be great
thanks
Mike

They are THE BEST!

I always thought they were overpriced (they are not exactly cheap) but after having used one for about 4 months now i have to tell you that it is great.

You CAN make a rack system on your own (plans galore in here) and it will be quite adequate, but Freedombreeders are like driving a Mercedez ... you get from point A to point B with both of them, but what a ride on the Freedombreeder!

For mice you'd have to get a mouse level (or two, or three) and use it in the same rack ... pretty flrxible.
