Crested Gecko Food Question

shyguy4217 Jun 15, 2004 03:26 PM

I am very interested in getting a crested gecko or two, but I wouldn't be able to feed them crickets. But I would be able to feed mealworms, babyfood, that powdered crested gecko diet stuff, and pretty much anything else except for crickets. I would really like to get a couple of these cool geckos but I wouldn't want to put their health at stake by not feeding a complete diet. Would a crested gecko still be healthy if I just fed the food mentioned above?

Thanks
-Eric-

Eric,
Absolutely you could get crested geckos and they can be fed the Sandfire/T-Rex complete meal powder, because that contains everything they need to maintain their health. I personally only feed crickets as well as the meal powder to babies and juvies, to increase their growth rate. I think adding baby food just dilutes the effect of the COMPLETE meal powder, complete meaning 'contains everything necessary'.
