gravid dumerils boa-help

snakeman97 Jun 15, 2004 04:21 PM

My gravid dumerils boa discharged a plug of some kind of substance. Has anyone had this happen before? If so how much prior to giving birth?

You mentioned in your other post that she was in shed. In general, my females shed within 3-5 days of dropping. Sometimes it's a little over a week, but 3-5 days seems to be the average with my females, and occasionally I've had them shed within a week AFTER dropping, but the resulting litter is generally not as viable as the females who shed PRIOR to dropping babies. I would guess that if she's in shed, and had a pre-birth "waxy" stool, you should be seeing babies within the next week. Best of luck to you, hope this helps you a little bit. Be sure to post some pics after she drops, and out of curiousity, is this breeding in any way related to your "hypo" dumerils? Take care

Paul

Thanks for the responses. Yes this is the same breeding that produced what I think is a hypo. Thanks Bill
