can a 4-5 month old leo get fat?

rayquaza Jun 15, 2004 06:45 PM

I have two but one is bigger and his tail is almost as big around as his belly. I feed them about 10 mealies each every night is that too much? They eat them and seem to want even more.

here is a pic of my two juvi leos do they look fat to you? I think they are just normals. Will they lose all thier cool color and just turn white with black spots?

No they dont look fat they look very healthy. Those bands will break up even more and it will have more spots. and it will stay yellow.

They look very heathly. Mine are piglets too its fine.
They don't seem to be normals, they're at least high yellows, i'm not too great with the morph thing, someone else can probably give you a better answer.
And no they don't turn white and black, you should look at some of the pictures on the site or on the internet adults retain their yellow.

I don't worry about having overweight babies/juveniles, because they are still growing and need as much nutrition as they can get. Feeding them as much as they will eat will help them grow more quickly.

As for your leos, I'd call them high yellows. They may or may not retain some lavender by the time they are full-grown.

I dont think that they are fat, they look very cute and healthy to me... but if you are worried you could always switch to crickets, if you gut load them they are really high in nutrients... Mealworms tend to have a higher fat content. You could have a mixture of both...

wasnt too sure if they could get fat..Well they are waiting for thier dinner even as I type this.Better not get them angry who knows what a pissed off leo could do...
