woah, my beardie is about 4 or 5 months old and he poked me. i mean really, his little spikes poked my finger and it bled. man it hurt like a you know what too. i still love him though. he was just trying to be all big and bad with his lil self.
has that happened to you all?

Tell me more about this neck-spike thing. Is it a defense mechanism? Do they have to be blown-up to hurt? (I'm new to beardies)

no,, just the spikes around their ears. If they turn their heads quickly they can poke you. It doesn't tear your hand up or anything, just a quick poke. I've had mine for 2 1/2 yrs and it's only happen a couple times.
