Question on handling.

mizar 21 Jun 15, 2004 08:18 PM

I have a 6 inch gecko, (juvies ?) , he's not very affraid of my hand anymore. I feed him his mealies one by one every night ! He even strike at my finger a couple of times triyng to snatch the mealies out , lol. He just dont climb on my hand. I try to gently touch him a couple of times but he go away . Is it time to try to pick him up ? Or give him more time ? I read that juvies can be really skittish, can he calm down as he grow older ?

Maybe kind of huddle him onto a flat hand and keep it in the cage, eventually you will be able to pull your hand out with him on it. Age will also help calm him down quite a bit. Give it time.
