Is it male or female?

male:
Ares - if he is aggressive
Argo - if good at escaping
Crete - an island where there were sacrafices to the Minotaur.
Cronus - Zues' father
Eros - god of love
Chaos - self explanitory
Hades - Feared God of the underworld
Hephaestus - God of fire, cast down from Olympus
Hermes - prankster & messenger
Heracles - Roman name Hercules
Icarus - flew too close to the sun (perhaps a bad omen name...)
Ladon - A many-headed dragon
Lethe - river in Hades causes forgetfulness
Midas - King of phrygia - "midas touch"
Silenus - right-hand satyr to the god Dionysus
Odysseus - King & adventurer lost at sea
Orpheus - saved the argonauts from the Sirens - but loked back and lost his wife to the underworld.
Perseus - Son of Zeus, vanquisher of the Gorgon Medusa.
Plato - Greek philosopher
Poseidon - god of the sea,
Prometheus - stole fire from the gods and gave it to mortals
Sciron - killed travelers to feed a man-eating turtle.
Sparta - city
Styx - river around Hades
Tartarus - eternal torment, where the greatest sinners were punished
Xanthus -An immortal horse belonging to Achilles

Female:
Athena - if aggressive
Cerce - if cold, aloof
Delphi - Home of the Oracle
Echo - nymph
Eurydice - Orpheus's wife - never look back...the future lies ahead of you.
Gorgon - Turned men to stone
Harpy - If she's a hisser....
Hera - wife of zues
Hestia - godess of hearth & home (for a foundation female)
Medusa - a gorgon
Sphinx - (monster)killed those who failed to answer her riddles.

You can tell I must have been bored....

thats really helpfull im really likein argo.

my snake is a male

right now, its between atlis, argo, or Heracles.

hey, i was wondering if anyone knew the story of how atlis held the earts, and he sat upon a dragon, witch was on a turtle, witsh was on a snake ( or something like that not shure how the story goes) but what was the snakes name?

LauraV Jun 16, 2004 06:12 PM

Stories differ, but the "snake" is probably the serpent (some stories call him a dragon) "Ladon" that guarded Hesperides' garden and had to be destroyed before Atlas could obtain the golden apples from the "tree of life," that Heracles needed to perform one of his "labors". Heracles held up the earth while Atlas retrieved them.
I am unaware of another snake in that story.
