277--As everyone knows it rained like crazy and temps dropped fast on Sat..troy was the only one that had luck..congrats! We hunted the Davis Mtns sunday with a blacktail and a nightsnake being the only serpents seen..temps dropped into the low 60's pretty fast and the Davis Mtns are new for me so I didn't expect any miracles..Monday we hunted Juno until 12:00 and found a balcktail on a cut at approx 11:30..on 277 nothing was seen by myself but another hunter picked up 1 alterna and found a d.o.r. We hunted until 5:30 that morning...had a blast and met some great folks...thanks again to coach who gave me 2 blacktails, one being a huge male that's a beutiful silver..I look forward to a rocket run in the near future, thats what I'm used to doing..and Wayne where were you bro?

I was asking the same about you on Sunday. I was over with Shannon Brown at the Regency as he was replacing my fuel injector for me that frequently goes out. It was a part that was under warranty and being the cool guy that Shannon is, did not charge me for the labor. I did not even hunt Saturday night mainly because of the storm, but since I had Caleb with me, and my truck was not running right, I hung out with Tom and Maureen over at the Ramada and checked out all their snakes. I hunted 277 on Sunday, found zip. Then Monday night, I hunted Langtry dirt and found a Regal Ring-Necked Snake, and later in the morning, we found a 3 1/2 foot male Gopher snake on a cut in Langtry. I held Caleb up and he picked it off the rock cut, but only after I determined the temperment of the snake which was excellent. He was real excited to catch this snake and he has named it Drawer. Don't ask,..........I have no answers except he is 4 1/2 yrs. old. He also has a great concept of spotlighting only if he does not get bored and start making animal shadows in the spotlight. This was a slight problemo! anyway, no Alterna for us, but we had a good time. Sorry I missed you, and why may I ask are you hunting the Davis Mts. now?? I enjoy August myself. Take care.

I was trying to get a pair of Davis Leps, and had no luck. August is gonna draw me back I gaurantee! I was driving into Alpine to pick up some splendida from a friend anyways so it was no biggie... That's cool that Caleb got to pick a gopher off the cut.. I got a good video of my 11 year old son collecting a nightsnake.. He now is addicted because he figured out the snakes there are different from here..LOL... I was in the regency Sat in Directly behind Shannons and upstairs.. We'll see each other I'm sure..
