Female introductions Blue Tree

Batlizard Jun 15, 2004 09:50 PM

I have a long term male and just got two females.
Wold yo Isolate the females for a few days get fecals etc or is there a risk in putting two wc females into an established males enclosure?
The females are smaller then the male but that is what I hear?

Right now I have the two females in a 20 gal in order to get fecal tomorrow.

Thanks again!

I don't think, what sex the monitor is matters. If it were me, I would let any new individual become established in there new enclosures before adding any undo stress.

Established means to, feed, gain weight, and progress normally, without signs of stress or desease.

I would also put the females in the breeder cage first, without the male and let them become established there. I assume you've had the male for a while and he is accustom to you already. Good luck FR

Hey tony....

I'll try giving you a call sometime tomorrow; today's just too hectic for me..

For your new girls, I would definately set them up separately, until you know that each one is doing ok. Introducing them together with the male is probably the last priority of yours right now.. Make sure they're eating/drinking/putting on sufficient weight, then worry about sticking them together.

A couple of posts down, I posted a couple of lengthy posts on my tactics for acclimating tree monitors, as well as one about introducing them together..

So, check those posts out, maybe you can find some of it useable in your application...

best of luck to you buddy,
I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow...
